Sunset at 21st Century Cafe
At times, you feel like kicking a soccer ball. By doing it a few feet at a time, nothing too strenuous, just a nice bit of play in the middle of a sunny afternoon. It was as if you had all the time in the world and the only thing you cared about at that moment was kicking that soccer ball.
At other times, you feel like driving to Sunway Pyramid in PJ for shopping. Window shopping at your own time and watching people ice skating in the rink below while you walk the mega mall with lots of joys.
Also coming to 21st Century Cafe, sipping a giant cup of dragon fruit juice just to watch the sunset. Or eating a slow dinner and watching the bright blinking lights of KLCC Twin Towers from afar as the night falls. Or enjoying coffee and sharing jokes with a few close friends.
The explanation of the above behaviour is the abilty to practice l’arte di non fare niente, an Italian expression which translates as the art of doing nothing. It implies something more than just killing time (to most over-achievers) sitting in a lazyboy in front of a television set.
I know what you are thinking. None of the above mentioned things are nothing, and they are indeed something. L’arte di non fare niente implies spontaneity and doing a thing for nothing more than the pleasure of doing it. This is really a beautiful thing.
Are you enlightened ?
